This blog is not about right or wrong, its about integrity. I believe integrity has to do with that but to me it seems to be a bit more all-encompassing. Integrity is not about whether or not you stole the cookie when no one was looking or whether or not you cheated on a test. Those things pertain to your values and your ability to maintain societies values under stress. Yes that has something to do with integrity but integrity affects so many other areas of our lives beyond the realm of just moral dilemma.

To me integrity is an individual’s ability to maintain and adhere to his or her own highest values no matter what. Integrity is authenticity. Integrity is transparency. Integrity is your ability to stay true not only to what you believe is right and wrong but mostly and primarily to the voice inside of you that most people lack the courage or integrity to follow.

Not only doing what’s right but following your heart in the face of all types of adversity because you know deep down in side, you have a unique calling the purpose that you must manifest not only for yourself but for the good of the world, that’s integrity. The ability to step into the crucible and sustain the stress and pressure of the purifying fires of the perfecting process of life without snapping, so that you can become strong enough to hold up in the fight for your purpose on the road to your greater destiny.

The sword gets fashioned by the blacksmith and goes through fire, water, pounding, carving and all types of brutality/stress before finally being glorified in the fulfillment of its purpose in combat. Why does the sword have to go through such a brutal process in preparation for its purpose? Because the sword must build its integrity i.e. its ability to maintain its structure and stability and hold up in the face of
the fight for which it was purposed. The integrity of the sword insures that it maintains its structer and keeps the sword effective in fulfilling its purpose; because if the structure of the sword changes as a result of its function while serving its purpose, then it will not be able to reach its destiny by completing what is required of it by its purpose. The perfecting processes of life are almost always painful but they are here to build your integrity so that you two can be strong enough to fulfill your purpose in ways that only you can if you can only stay true.

“I’ve learned so much more from pain than I have ever learned from pleasure”

-unknown

This is why I always say to find the purpose within the painful circumstances of life and the meaning for your misery, so you can unlock the potential that is readily available to you within all of life’s circumstances and the processes you are currently going through.

2Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,a whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

James 1

The only way to get integrity is in the crucible so you may last in the belly of the beast. If you’re a knight in shinning armor than your metal has probably never been tested and you really don’t know how you will hold up in the face of adversity yet, in reality all you can do is speculate as to what you are made of…

“Once you have walked through the fire, little else can touch you”

-US Marine Corps proverb

So its time to go out and build your integrity my friend! Go and do the thing you fear until the death of fear is certain, go after your dreams, kill the dragons of life so you can be strong, fearless, building your self-reliance, confidence and trust in your God which are all components necessary for the fortification, cultivation and fostering of INTEGRITY.

Without this you do not have any solid foundation to build your life upon…
