They must judge you in order to protect themselves and here’s why; we do not see the world as it is rather we see the world, as we are… This happens very naturally and subconsciously for most people. We can only comprehend things that we have mental reference points for generally. Unless someone is very aware of their tendencies, bias, lens on reality or their tendency to transference, it is so easy to superimpose your opinions based on what’s inside of you on top of someone else that most people have no idea they’re doing it on a daily basis.

For most things in life and in many different instances this reflex and way of understanding the world around us works quite well. If you experience something once then your subconscious mind can hold onto the data retrieved from that experience indefinitely, giving you access to that information if ever you run into that same set of circumstances again. Unfortunately the same software becomes problematic when we run into organisms that are always changing, that are unpredictable and that we may find ourselves in direct or indirect competition with, i.e. other people. Your mind wants to keep you in a state of mental balance, a type of inner psychic homeostasis designed to protect your identity and it will usually use the ego to do this. If you are conscious, aware and naturally very secure you will resist the temptation to judge others for their own authenticity. Unfortunately most people in our society do not possess high levels of the before mentioned values and so they unconsciously slip into attack mode when they see some else’s light shining genuine creativity or fearlessness around them.  It’s exposing them and the ego responds by  judging you, classify you and put you in a position that makes them feel powerful or more comfortable again… Even if it is only to themselves in their own minds.

The energy and light you shine as you go on your own personal journey to find and cultivate your own spark of creativity, power and passion exposes the smallness and fearfulness of those around you. They  Reflexively judge you because this experience is extremely uncomfortable and will cause most people not only to try vehemently to discourage you but also to wound you in order to stop you from being authentic and operating fearlessly. They want you to bow down and cower in the same ways that they are in life… After all… Who do you think you are? The fact that you’re brave enough to fight the good fight must mean that you think that you are better than everyone else right? They need to judge you so they feel okay about themselves. They need to come up with something negative about you to make them more comfortable with themselves for not following their dreams or having the balls to do what it is you’re doing with your life. Your courage reminds them of what they could of been, what they were back when they were brave and what they should be doing with their lives right now.

So let them judge you and come up with whatever type of narrative they need to in order to help themselves feel comfortable. Whatever form of mental gymnastics they conduct while trying to make you feel bad for going after your own greatness is their masterpiece, it’s the way they must use their own creativity to protect themselves. Don’t let it bother you but rather see it as entertainment and find a way to be compassionate towards them because they just like everyone else are simply scared and tired… Love them, feel compassionate towards them but separate yourself from them as quickly as possible because the voices in your own head will be hard enough to battle on the road to you’re own transcendence as you evolve over the years.
