Human beings can only grasp concepts that their personal identity is strong enough to withstand.

Have you ever told someone something and it’s almost like they literally cannot comprehend what you’re saying?

Not like they don’t understand but that their mind is almost protecting them from understanding what you’re trying to explain to them. Usually we see this taking place between parents and children. You’re trying to explain the obvious to someone but for whatever reason they simply cannot comprehend what is right in front of their own eyes. What’s happening is they are experiencing cognitive distortion as a result of the amount of truth and reality they are strong enough to take responsibility for based on where they are at in their own level of evolution and maturity.

In life we are forced to go around in circles many times until we become more well developed in various ways to the point where we can climb out of the circumstances that once entrapped us. If we can see the way out from the beginning why don’t we just climb out of these situations? Because we see the way out but we don’t truly understand what it means yet. Based on our mental metabolisms we take bites that are relative to our ability to understand and digest reality which causes us to inevitably go around in circles until we understand the significance of what we see and how to apply it to go to the next level.

The truth is that absolutely everything we experience in life has to do with our personal perceptions, perspectives, abilities and beliefs. When information comes towards you, you are only capable of digesting what your inner psychic world is ready to effectively deal with. The rest of the information generally goes through cognitive distortions to help reinforce the beliefs you are currently using to help you navigate your world.

You can only soak up and I just that which is in alignment with your maturity and that which your self-image is strong enough to accept. This phenomenon is something referred to in psychology is your mental metabolism and in this video I speak about it quite a bit more.
