Emotional Protection Systems Part2
The good news is that the more you use the techniques spoken about in the video that follows, the more powerful you will actually become.
These techniques are designed to help you alter your state, your current state of being. Much like what people do when they are trying to medicate themselves with drugs, alcohol, cigarettes etc. It is now scientifically proven that you can positively alter your physical state through the use of your own body language to empower yourself. The old adage “fake it until you make it,” is not actually that far off of the reality that we live in.
How do you feel?
You have what is called a “ Triad of state ” inside of you. This Triad is what determines how you are feeling at any given moment. Said differently in order to genuinely feel something there are a few things that have to take place first.
The Triad is made up of 3 parts.
Physiology:
Physiology is the language your body speaks to your mind to tell you to feel a certain way.
For example: If you want to feel depressed your body will naturally sink into a depression Posture. You will start shrinking your body naturally slouching, looking down, frowning, etc.
Focus:
The next step is that you will begin to focus on the thing that has got you depressed. You will neglect to think about all of the other things in your current environment and situation, and begin to focus solely on what it is that has got you down. This takes things out of proper perspective and knocks you off balance emotionally and psychologically.
Language pattern:
Because you focus on this horrible thing, you will begin to have a self-defeating negative conversation with yourself about it. This will cause you to continually convince yourself that what you’re experiencing is real, hopeless, and terrible. It is during this conversation you will be validating your actions and fortifying your argument for being miserable.
This Triad of depression is what allows you to stay in that state of depression. It has been scientifically proven that negative emotions only last for 6-two 13 min therefore, it is absolutely essential to staying depressed that your body maintains this Triad in order for you to continue being depressed.
Why would somebody want to stay depressed?
The answer is simple: It is because the depression that they’re in is meeting one or all of their 6 core needs (as long as they are healthy biologically).
These needs are; certainty, variety, significance, love & connection, growth, and the need to give beyond oneself (More about this in a future post).
The bottom line is that if you disrupt your current Triad by inserting behavior that can lead you to another Triad, you can alter your state of being within minutes. When you are in a positive and powerful state of being you are more effective and more efficient and life is much more beautiful. The current quality of your life will begin to improve right now, which will result in an overall improvement in your future, because you begin to create more positivity for yourself as a result of staying positive.
So next time you are feeling down and hopeless, take a look at your Triad. Understand that the way you are feeling is a result of what you are focusing on, how you’re holding your body and the thoughts that you are entertaining through your internal dialogue. Know that you are in charge of yourself 100% and that your state of being is determined by you. Then do whatever it takes to disrupt that negative Triad by injecting the framework for a positive one.
Sit up straight, think about a time when you were extremely happy, Bite down on a pencil for 2 min. if you have to (this forces you to smile and will resolved in a mood change:). Practice some “power poses!” whatever you do, get yourself back in a state of power and positivitybecause this will make solving your problem and navigating through life a most wonderful chain of events for you.
