This is all about the executive protection lifestyle. Recently I took a course with the CCW Socal security company headed by Tim Kelly. His course has helped my team navigate several quals that were pertinent for us to prove our efficiency, and handling of the firearms. We knocked out local law enforcement quals, federal level quals, local CCW quals, and we made sure to find an instructor with a solid background that certifies shooters for many different organizations. We did this in order to hedge ourselves against any liability and it’s something I have been hearing more and more teams are doing.
I know it could be difficult to get your team out but I want to encourage you to try and get your people out to train if you’re seriously preparing for an arms encounter. I’d also like to thank Tim and John for the wonderful job they’ve done. They took us through the entire course, helped us in becoming more proficient, and learned several aspects of firearm shoots.
As I always say, executive protection is more than just a job, it’s a lifestyle so go on ahead and invest in your teams!
