I am a professional protector.
I love it because protecting people is a part of who I am. What I think many people overlook and need to understand however is simply that we are all protectors or at least we should be.
I protect people for money and while it is a noble vocation, for the most part, the things and people we should protect for even more noble reasons. You should protect your thoughts and your mind. Protect your heart, protect your body, guard your mouth and the words that come out of it because just like bullets you can’t take the things back after you’ve said them.

Protect your livelihood because it feeds your family, protect your relationships because ultimately they are what this life ends up being about in so many ways. Protect the people you love and most of all… Protect yourself because if you are wounded, unhealthy or unhappy it is impossible to serve the world and those counting on you at a high-level. Protection may be one of the ultimate acts of service and the highest forms of love when there is a demand placed on a protector. “No greater love than this that a man lay down his life for another”.

We don’t do it for self-righteous reasons, those who are good at this do it because it’s simply who they are and the sacrifice is almost impulsive, organic and done without hesitation. Protection is the function of a warrior and I believe it is something we are all here to do on one level or another but there are still some of us who are here to go that extra mile. I thank God for them and pray that may be counted in their number stand between good and evil and be the light in the darkness.
