Young men need to hear this: you should become a monster—an absolute monster—and then learn to control it.

That’s why the scariest men are often the kindest. When you are intimately familiar with violence, when you’re capable of it, you don’t need to prove anything. Mastery of violence means you rarely have to use it.

👊 My family will never know the things I’ve endured, the things I’ve done, to understand gentleness. My kids have never seen a harsh hand out of fear, ego, or anger. If I’m ever stern, it’s out of love—because I want them to grow into stronger, better people.
