Shooting is a function that builds upon an individual‘s ability to see and process information effectively first and foremost before anything else. Learning to see more aggressively and take in more information while executing on tactical objective has proven to be one of the most valuable skills I’ve learned from Competitive shooting.
The reality is that you cannot fight faster than you can effectively process information is real and something that I’ve had to cope with on my journey of becoming better and better. Focusing on seeing more while attempting to operate on the shooting range has proven to be one thing I’ve worked on that has made me more and more effective.
There are people that can shoot on a square range at paper targets and then there are people who can think, move, communicate and problem-solve while shooting, I have strived to become more and more of the latter and if you really want to increase your gunfighting skills I think it something we should all focus on.
