“You are the world you have created, and when you cease to exist, this world that you have created also ceases to exist.”
– The Counselor.
In this video, I want to talk about a particular scene from the movie Counselor that I saw a while back. This episode depicts the internal economy of a person. The takeaway from this piece is that no one in this game called life bears the responsibility for the results of our lives outside of us. Your own actions have consequences that are not only scary but also beautiful. You can’t change, what you can’t take responsibility for, and that’s the beauty of life. Your journey depends on the choices you make.
One of the most motivating facts for me, personally is, “you’re gonna DIE”. I think about death every day, and that helps me to remain very present, very grounded, and purposeful. I have had a near-death experience when I was 19, and I regretted that there’s so much more I wanted to do, and couldn’t – I don’t want to experience that again. A lot of people, when they’re in a black spot, all they want to do is, getting out of pain while that is human nature, what we must really be working towards is unlocking the potential within ourselves to deal with this pain, learn from it, evolve from it. Remember, you cannot go back and change the realities of the past that have been created. You’re going to live with the results of what you do today, so do good and be good.
Train your mind, body, and spirit for the worst moment, so that you can deal with it with strength, with grace, and with dignity. The reality of this game is that we’re at a crossing every single day, where only one true choice takes us to the righteous path. With every minute that goes by, you’re experiencing the extinction of many realities. You can’t go back in time to change or undo anything. Truth is always found in a heart that is strong enough to sustain it.
I hope you enjoyed this!
