The whole movement about, “You’re really good the way you are” sounds great, but I can’t get on with it. If we do not teach discipline to our homies, the world is going to be harsh on them, and they won’t be able to succeed in life. How do I know this? Because I have been on both sides of the spectrum. I see what happens to kids who don’t learn discipline.
I don’t believe that human beings are good enough because they’re born. I am working hard every day because I haven’t yet arrived, I’m still getting after it. Remember, the stronger you get, the more you can achieve. The more responsibilities you have, the more you need to achieve. Life is faithful to allow you to see farther, and you must take that opportunity to go farther.
Don’t be so weak that you need to be told that you’re good enough. Not one person in this world is “good enough”. This is what I want you to think about and get comfortable with that. The sooner you can get over the feeling of “needing things”, the better off you are. Have the emotional intelligence to choose how you feel!
